I’ve been an avid sports fan for the majority of my life, but more notably, basketball has been my favourite sport overall. I play club basketball every week and I train a fair bit. I love to watch my Cleveland Cavaliers battle through the 82 game season and the post-season where they seem to always face the Golden State Warriors, so yeah it can suck a little.
My favourite player in the current era is the main reason why I’ll be a Cleveland fan until I die, and it’s Kyrie Irving who sadly was traded from the Land to Boston in 2017. But even though he’s gone, I still love the city, the team and I hope to one day visit Cleveland and see a few games.
T R A V E L L I N G
I don’t do much of it, but travelling is definitely on my bucket list. The main place I’d like to travel is Canada. I love the aesthetic of the country and have been fortunate enough to visit both Vancouver and Whistler, which is two hours north of Vancouver. I fell in love with Canada as soon as I landed in 2015. I’d love to go back to travel the country and maybe find a job in Whistler where I can make a living and enjoy my life in such an amazing part of the world.
G O A L S
Representative Basketball: I’ve never actually tried out for the Sutherland Youth League team because I’ve never been confident in my abilities. After losing over 10 kilos, I’m definitely fitter than ever and I’ve been working on my game to be better at basketball and hopefully when trials come around in October, I can show the coaches what I’m made of. If not, there’s always next year and the years after that.
Social Media: I love social media and just like everyone else, I’m surrounded by it. I used to have a YouTube channel and I loved but stopped uploading because I was always bullied about it, but now that I have more confidence in myself, I’m more motivated to start it up again and upload some awesome content. I want to expand my brand, @Hardwood_Rundown, on Instagram as I have a huge passion for basketball and I love uploading basketball content to the page.
Be a better version of my current self: I can be a very lazy person and it affects my lifestyle. I want to be healthier and more active and if that means waking up early every morning to do exercise then that’s what I’ll do. I need to stick to my diet and I hate it when I don’t put in 100% effort into everything I do so I need to continue to improve my overall wellbeing and lifestyle to ultimately be where I need to be.
